1. Who we are
The Ridgeway Ranch is a farmstay and events property in Wamberal, on the NSW Central Coast, operated by Daniel Dixon (ABN 49 960 833 850). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean The Ridgeway Ranch.
We take your privacy seriously and handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.

2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to host you, plan your event or send your order. Depending on how you deal with us, that may include:
- Contact details – your name, email address, phone number and, for merchandise orders, your delivery address.
- Stay details – dates, number of guests, arrival time and any requests you share with us, such as accessibility needs or who’s travelling with you.
- Event details – the type of event, preferred date, guest numbers, budget, and any dietary or accessibility requirements you tell us about for you or your guests.
- Payment Information – payments are processed by our booking and shop providers. We see a record that you’ve paid, but we don’t receive or store your full card details.
- Messages – anything you send us by email, through our enquiry form, or via Instagram or Facebook.
- Website usage – basic, aggregated information about how people use our website (such as pages visited and device type), collected by our hosting provider.
- Photos – we sometimes photograph the property, animals and events. See Photos on the farm.
If you give us information about other people, such as your event guests, please make sure they’re happy for you to share it.
3. How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: when you book a stay, send an event enquiry, order merchandise, email us or message us on social media.
If you book through Airbnb, Booking.com or VRBO, that platform passes your booking details to us so we can host you. Their own privacy policies apply to the information you give them.

4. How we use it
- To confirm and manage your stay or event, and to communicate with you before, during and after it.
- To prepare quotes, take payments and issue invoices and receipts.
- To send merchandise orders and handle returns.
- To keep guests, staff and animals safe on the property.
- To meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.
- To improve our website and what we offer.
- To send you news or offers, but only if you’ve opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
5. Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run the business, and they handle your information on our behalf:
- Guesty – our booking system for stays.
- Airbnb, Booking.com and VRBO – if you book through them.
- Shopify – our online shop and its payment processing.
- Google (Gmail) – our email.
- Xero – our accounting software
- Cloudflare – our website hosting.
- Event suppliers – such as caterers or stylists, and only the details they need to deliver your event (for example guest numbers and dietary requirements).
- Our guest support team – who help us respond to messages and manage bookings.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or with our insurers or professional advisers where needed.
6. Information stored overseas
Some guest messages are handled by our support team in the Philippines, and some of the software providers listed above store data outside Australia.
7. Photos on the farm
We love sharing life on the farm on Instagram, Facebook and this website. If you’d be clearly recognisable in a photo, we’ll ask before we post it. For events, we’ll check with the organiser first, and you can tell us any time if you’d rather not be featured.
If you see yourself in something we’ve posted and want it taken down, email us and we’ll remove it.

8. Cookies and analytics
Our website itself keeps things light. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, collects aggregated visitor statistics without using tracking cookies.
When you use our booking engine or shop, Guesty and Shopify may set their own cookies so bookings, carts and payments work properly. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the booking and checkout process may stop working.

9. Keeping it secure and how long we keep it
We protect your information with secure, access-controlled accounts, and we only give access to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to prevent misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
We keep booking and financial records for as long as tax law requires (generally five years), and delete or de-identify other information once we no longer need it. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll let you know.

11. Questions and complaints
